Tamiya 1:72 North American F-51D Mustang Korean War

The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of American assault aircraft in 1:72 scale.

Tamiyas kit allows building the North American American F-51D Mustang model during the Korean War. Mustangs were considered as one of the best hunting aircraft in the world during World War II. During the Korean War, their performance was no longer satisfactory enough to compete with the first post-war jets. Part of the F-51 has been adapted into the role of assault aircraft in which it performed very well. 

In the box, there are 3 frames with elements of the aircraft, transparent parts of the fairing of the cab, a transparent stand for the model and the decals.

Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.

Paints proposed by the manufacturer for the best effect: 

• Tamiya X-11 + XF-16 or AS-12 spray (2: 1 proportions) 
• Tamiya XF-3 + XF-5 (cockpit, 2: 1 proportions) 
• Tamiya XF-1 (wheels, cockpit elements, engine components) 
• Tamiya X-1 (cockpit elements) 
• Tamiya X-18 (propeller, air ridge) 
• Tamiya X-11 (shaving chassis, fuses, exhaust) 
• Tamiya X-10 (exhaust, MGs) 
• Tamiya XF-62 (cabin elements, bombs, rockets) 
• Tamiya X-2 (rockets) 
• Tamiya X-8 (propeller cap, darts)

• The assembly instruction.

Kit does NOT contain paints and glue.

• Pilers for cutting plastic parts.
• Modeling penknife.
• File or sandpaper.
• Cement for plastic models.
• Brush or airbrush.
• Modeling paints.
