Tamiya 1:72 60748 Supermarine Spitfire

The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of British fighter in 1:72 scale.

One of the greatest symbols of the British Empires resistance against Nazi Germany was the Supermarine Spitfire fighter. Designed before the war began and produced since 1937, was the best fighter in the RAF. Spitfires sleek design combined with the excellent Rolls-Royce Merlin engine gave it a very high speed and excellent maneuverability. The armament consisted of 8 Browns, 7,7 mm, 4 per wing, allowing any German machine to be destroyed. Fighters have won the Battle of Britain. When they have had to fight with overwhelming opponent forces. During this campaign, the Spitfire pilots received the task of destroying enemies fighters so that the slower and less attackable Hurricanes could attack unprotected bombers. The heroic efforts of the pilots and the reliability of the machines reflected the airplanes reputation as a legend in the service. Over 20,000 Spitfires have been built in 25 different versions. 

The Tamiya kit allows you to build the British Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I fighter aircraft from World War II. The box contains 2 frames with parts of the model, a frame with transparent elements of the fairing of the cab and decals (allow reconstruction of the machine with 92 or 601 Hunting Squad).

Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.

• Tamiya XF-21 (airplane belly) 
• Tamiya XF-5 + XF-21 + XF-65 (interior cockpit, 1: 3: 1 proportions)

• Tamiya X-11 (cockpit and suspension elements) 
• Tamiya XF-56 (exhaust) 
• Tamiya X-1 (hull elements, wheels, propeller)
