More info

The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of German tank destroyer in 1:35 scale.

With the development of armored vehicles, anti-tank weapons were developing as well. The most powerful anti tank gun produced by the German war machine was 128 mm Pak 44. Already in 1943, first attempts to mount this gun on the vehicle were made. These works were crowned in 1944 when the biggest tank destroyer of Second World War rolled off the production line. It was called Jagdtiger. Built on the chassis of Tiger II tank, weighing 70 tons this colossal vehicle, was almost indestructible. No Allied vehicle could equally deal with such a powerfully armed and armored (up to 250 mm!!) monster. Despite its impressive combat capabilities, Jagdtiger could not change the course of the war. Great weight was the cause of numerous failures of the propulsion system. It also resulted in the construction very slow speed and lack in mobility. Despite the advantage on the ground, it was easy prey for the prevailing Allies in the air.

Tamiya plastic model plastic model kit allows assembly of the heavy tank destroyer Sd.Kfz. 186 Panzerjager Jagdtiger with the driver, commander, and member of the crew. Box includes 2 pieces of hull, 6 sprues with parts, rubber tracks, photo-etched parts, and decals.

Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.

Paints suggested by the manufacturer for the best effect:

Vehicle:

  • Tamiya XF-60 or spray TS-3 (armor, color Dunkelgelb)
  • Tamiya XF-64 or spray TS-1 (brown camouflage)
  • Tamiya XF-61 or spray TS-2 (green camouflage)
  • Tamiya XF-56 (caterpillars, accessories)

Crew:

  • Tamiya XF-1 (rigger, uniform)
  • Tamiya X-11 (belt)
  • Tamiya XF-15 (skin)

Set contains:

  • The assembly instruction.
  • Frames with plastic parts.
  • Decals.
  • Photo etched parts.
  • Rubber tracks.
  • Track link set.
  • Soldiers / crew figures.

Kit does NOT contain paints and glue.

Here are the basic tools and materials you need:

  • Pilers for cutting plastic parts.
  • Modeling penknife.
  • File or sandpaper.
  • Cement for plastic models.
  • Brush or airbrush.
  • Modeling paints.

If you are not sure of any accessories or colors of paints you need for your model kit, please ask us, we will be glad to help you.
