Bearers of countless diseases and plagues, they embody the corrupted power of their patron, Nurgle – the god of decay, plague and renewal through decay. When the Death Guard march to war, they spread diseases that rot both flesh and their surroundings. Their foul gifts infect immune systems, weakening even the most resilient foes. But their rot runs deeper, tarnishing metal, vehicles and structures, corrupting even the hardest elements of enemy technology.

Death Guard - Scourge of the Universe

The Death Guard are legionaries who were once loyal Space Marines, but were corrupted by Nurgle and transformed into horrific creatures of plague and filth. Their bodies are deformed by the diseases Nurgle has lavished upon them, and their every step brings death and destruction. Loyal to their patron, they seek to spread the "gifts" of Nurgle wherever they go.
