Acrylic paints for miniatures and models from Games Workshop, the most popular manufacturer of miniature wargames in the world. The Citadel colour palette is divided into several categories, which make it easier to choose colours for specific miniatures and paint them step by step. There are also paint sets available, dedicated to the next stages of painting, and starter sets (with miniatures), which make it easier for beginners to get started.
Citadel paints are divided into 6 basic types:
Base - the first step of painting, paints with stronger pigment intended for applying base colors to miniatures
Layer - the second step, paints with minimal transparency, intended for lightening colors on miniatures
Shade - inks and washes, intended for obtaining a shadow effect in the nooks and crannies of models
Dry - paints with increased density, specially designed for the dry brush technique (so-called Drybrushing). They are used when lightening the most exposed elements of miniatures and models.
Contrast - a new type of transparent paints for easy painting of miniatures with shading. They are also used in conjunction with the dry brush method in a technique known as "Slap-chop".
Air - paints prepared for use in an airbrush.
In addition to these basic types of paints, Citadel has introduced a whole range of specialist paints (Technical, Texture, Glaze), intended for more advanced painting techniques, and a rich palette of primer sprays, facilitating work on the largest models and large batches of miniatures.
