More info
The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of American fighter in 1:72 scale.
The Tamiya kit allows building the American North American P-51D Mustang model. Thanks to their great performance and excellent armament, the Mustangs have reached the status of aviation legends. Their primary task was to escort the 8th Bombers while flying over Germany. The P-51D was the final and most produced version of the fighter. The most important change was the use of the new fairing of the pilot cockpit and increased armament of 4 to 6 MGs Browning .50.
The box contains 2 frames with model elements, a frame with transparent parts and decals (allow reconstruction of the 362, 375 or 487 Fighter Squadron).
Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
Paints suggested by the manufacturer for the best effect:
- Tamiya XF-62 or spray TS-6 (masking)
- Tamiya X-11 + XF-16 or AS-12 spray (1:1 proportions)
- Tamiya X-4 + XF-8 (blue nose, 487 Squadron)
