The kit proposed by IBG company includes a plastic model kit of Polish assault aircraft in 1:72 scale.
PZL 23a Karaś was a lightweight bomber-reconnaissance aircraft, a low-wing and full-metal construction with solid chassis. Designed and built in Poland in the 1930s. The machine crew consisted of three aviators - a pilot, an observer and a gunner. The concept of the machine appealed to the French idea of linear planes, whose task was to find the forces of the enemy and their rapid bombardment.
Design began in 1931, and the prototype was tested 3 years later. The first experiments showed that the visibility of the pilot was too small and the cabin was too cramped. In the next copy, these problems were eliminated by lowering the engine position. However, the machine showed difficulty in piloting, which led to the need to create another prototype model. PZL 23 / III was a satisfactory construction, therefore, it was decided to produce the first series under the designation PZL 23a. However, in the course of operation, it turned out that the current engine is too treacherous. All 40 machines produced were directed to air schools. The second series of Karas PZL 23b was introduced to the line units with a new propulsion unit. Before the outbreak of war, 240 copies were produced.
The IBG kit allows you to build the model of the Polish bomber-reconnaissance aircraft PZL 23a Karaś. In the box there are 4 frames with elements of the model, a transparent compact with cab elements, a photo-etched plate and decals (allow reconstruction of machines from the School of Aviation Officers in Deblin, September 1939).
Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
Paints suggested by the manufacturer to paint the model:
- Polish Khaki (Vallejo Model Air: 24, Hataka: A011, Mr. Hobbies: H81)
