The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of Japanese fighter in 1:72 scale.
After the catastrophic battle of Midway and the defeat at Guadalcanal, the Japanese had to fundamentally change their tactics. The transition from the offensive to the defense revealed the lack of army equipment, fleet, and aviation. After the introduction of modern Hellcat and Corsair fighters, the situation became even more difficult. So it was decided to build a new fighter plane based on the very successful Kawanishi N1K Kyofu seaplane. In spite of the massive construction, thanks to the use of special combat flaps, the machine was very responsive and easy to pilot. The armament of the aircraft was two MGs installed in the hull and 4 guns, initially mounted in 2 in the wings and gondolas, and from the N1K1-Ja version only in the wings. In the hands of experienced Japanese pilots, the new fighter could easily have fought with the most modern American aircraft, but their output was far too small to have a greater impact on the course of the war.
The Tamiya kit allows building the Japanese Kawanishi N1K1-Ja fighter aircraft during World War II. In the box are: frames with aircraft parts, a frame with transparent elements of the cab and decals (allow reconstruction of the Tsukuba fighter groups, Yokosuka or 402 Fighter Squadron 341 Group).
Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
