More info

The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of German fighter in 1:72 scale.

One of the best fighters of the early WWII period was Messerschmitt Bf109 E-3. The plane was small, had a powerful engine and even more powerful weapons. The E-Series maximum speed has increased to 550 km / h and direct fuel injection has maintained its power even under heavy overloads. The stock of ammunition for rifles and guns has been greatly increased relative to its predecessors. The aircraft was armed with 2 MGs MG 17 mounted in the hull and another 2 MGs or 2 MG FF in the wings. Some of the planes also had an additional cannon firing through the shaft and propeller hub. The E-3 was also the first to significantly increase cockpit armor and fairings. The New Messerschmitts began to hit units in the early 1940s and took part in the Battle of Britain, fighting the British Spitfires and Hurricanes. Due to their limited range, however, they did not fulfill the role of an escort fighter, which caused considerable losses among German bombers and contributed to the final fiasco of the invasion plan for the British Islands.

The Tamiya kit allows building the model of the German Messerschmitt Bf109 E-3 fighter from World War II. In the box, there is a frame with plastic elements of the aircraft, frame with transparent parts and decals (allow to reconstruct machines of 26, 54 or 77 JG, including the German hunting machine Adolf Galland).

Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.

Paints suggested by the manufacturer for the best effect:

Plane:

  • Tamiya XF-22, XF-49, XF-62 (camouflage)
  • Tamiya spray AS-5 (aircraft belly)
  • Tamiya XF-22 + XF-49 (cockpit, airplane interior, 1: 1 ratio)
  • Tamiya XF-63 (cockpit elements)
  • Tamiya XF-16 (cockpit elements, propellers)
  • Tamiya XF-1 (wheels)
  • Tamiya X-18 (cockpit elements, propeller)
  • Tamiya X-10 (guns)

Set contains:

  • The assembly instruction.
  • Frames with plastic parts.
  • Decals.
  • Transparent plastic elements.

Kit does NOT contain paints and glue.

Here are the basic tools and materials you need:

  • Pilers for cutting plastic parts.
  • Modeling penknife.
  • File or sandpaper.
  • Cement for plastic models.
  • Brush or airbrush.
  • Modeling paints.

If you are not sure of any accessories or colors of paints you need for your model kit, please ask us, we will be glad to help you.
