The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of British night fighter in 1:72 scale.
After losing in the Battle over Britain, the Germans set themselves London as the special purpose of their night bombings attacks. The RAFs headquarters began searching for a new night fighter capable of intercepting the Luftwaffe machines over England. It was decided to modify the new De Havilland Mosquito aircraft so that he could play the role. The factors that mattered were the very high maximum speed and climb and powerful armament. The first night fighters of the NF Mk.II had radars of insufficient power, so they were constantly upgraded during the war. In 1944 NF XIII and XVII versions entered the service, equipped with the latest radars and additional fuel tanks. New radars were mounted in the Mosquit noses and the parachute was transferred to the KM position behind the nose of the aircraft. Despite reducing the armament to only 4 guns, Mosquity retained its full combat potential and phenomenally performed in its new role.
The Tamiya kit allows building the WWII British De Havilland Mosquito NF Mk.XIII or Mk. XVII. In the box there are 5 frames with elements of the aircraft, a frame with transparent parts and decals (allow reconstruction of aircraft from a special unit Fighter Interception Unit or 410 Squadron).
Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
