The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of American assault aircraft in 1:72 scale.
The most produced American fighter of World War II was the P-47 Thunderbolt. As the first, it had suspended fuel tanks, which greatly increased its operating range. Thanks to that, the P-47 was ideally for the role of escort fighter for Allied bombing missions in Germany. Moreover, Thunderbolt was well armed. In each of its wings were 4 Browning Browning 12.7 mm machine gun. In 1944 a new version of the cockpit appeared, resembling an air bubble, which greatly increased the field of view of the pilot. When the first P-51 Mustangs appeared in the USAF, the Thunderbolts were partially targeted for assault and bombing missions, and their armaments were extended to missiles and bombs.
Tamiyas kit allows building the American P-47D Thunderbolt Bubbletop (model with fully-glazed cabin). An airplane can be built together with additional fuel tanks, rockets or bombs. In the box, there are 4 frames with elements of the model, frame with transparent parts of the cabin and decals (allow reconstruction of machines of 84 or 551 Hunting Squadron).
Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
