Tamiya 1:72 Grumman F-14A Tomcat

The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of American fourth generation turbo-jet fighter in 1:72 scale.

Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.

Under the influence of combat experience during the Vietnam War, U.S. Navy reported the need for a new fighter that could compete with the latest Soviet MIGs. In response to these first on-board fighters of the fourth generation was built - the F-14. It was an air superiority fighter, the first of a new type of machines, whose task was to win the battle for complete domination over an opponent in the sky. At the same time, the new fighter had to act as defense aircraft of the fleet, close air support, and tactical reconnaissance. Very good performance, great avionics, and excellent equipment in the form of Phoenix missiles made that plane a deadly opponent. The best proof of the reliability of this machine was that from the first flight until Tomcats were withdrawn from service of the U.S. Navy 36 years have passed.
