Propellers, Hubs, and Spinners – Key Propulsion Components

This category features propellers, hubs, and spinners, which are key components of the propulsion system for any RC flying model, from airplanes to drones and multirotors. The propeller is the fundamental component that converts motor power into thrust, enabling the model to fly. Its proper selection and installation directly impact performance, stability, and flight time. Our selection includes propellers of various designs and purposes, as well as essential mounting accessories like propeller hubs, which ensure a secure and centered attachment to the motor shaft, and spinners that improve the model's aerodynamics and appearance.

How to Choose the Right Propeller for Your RC Model?

The choice of a propeller depends on several factors, primarily the model type, motor power, and desired flight characteristics. The most important parameters are the propeller's diameter and pitch, given in inches (e.g., 10x5). The first value is the diameter – the larger it is, the more thrust the propeller generates at lower RPMs. The second value is the pitch, which is the theoretical distance the propeller would travel in one revolution. A higher pitch results in a higher maximum speed for the model. We offer fixed-pitch propellers, folding propellers (often used in gliders), as well as pusher and puller type propellers, designed for specific propulsion configurations, such as those in drones.

    Hubs, Spinners, and Propeller Accessories

A hub is the component that connects the propeller to the motor shaft. The most popular are collet-style prop adapters, which guarantee a strong and centered mounting. It is important that the hub's bore diameter matches the shaft diameter. A spinner, on the other hand, is a cover mounted on the hub that improves aerodynamics by reducing drag and gives the model a finished, aesthetic look. It is also crucial to remember to balance the propeller before its first use with a special balancer. An unbalanced propeller generates vibrations that can negatively affect the electronics, the model's structure, and the motor's lifespan.
