The bottle contains 10 ml of Tamiya acrylic hobby paint in the shade DARK GREEN 2 (code XF-70), designed for precise painting of plastic and resin models. This paint features low odor intensity and good adhesion to surfaces when applied on properly prepared grounds.
Compatible with other Tamiya X- / XF- series paints
Application
XF-70 Tamiya Dark Green 2 is intended for painting assembly models, especially those requiring a precise and durable military green finish. Used in scale modeling reduction techniques, it performs well with both brush and airbrush techniques.
Surface Preparation
Before painting, surfaces should be thoroughly cleaned and degreased to ensure good paint adhesion. Applying a primer, such as Tamiya Surface Primer, is recommended to improve durability and the final coating's appearance, especially when painting with a brush.
Brush Painting
The paint can be applied directly without thinning on small surfaces.
On larger areas, light water thinning is recommended.
The optimal dilution ratio is 1:1 with Tamiya X-20A.
This provides a smooth flow through the airbrush nozzle and reduces clogging risk.
It is recommended to use protective masks and work in a spray booth with extraction.
Alternatively, stronger thinners such as Lacquer Thinner or Mr. Levelling Thinner can be used to improve paint flow, though they have a more intense smell.
Color Compatibility and Mixing
Tamiya's acrylic paints from the X-/XF- series are compatible with each other, allowing modellers to create custom color mixes as needed. For example, model instructions may specify mixing ratios such as XF-1:2 + XF-4:1, meaning blending XF-1 and XF-4 in a 2:1 ratio to achieve a specific hue.
