More info
The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of American first generation turbo-jet fighter in 1:72 scale.
Thunderjet was the first American jet fighter built after World War II. The first specimens went into service in 1947, but by 1951, they had struggled with a lot of engineering and engine problems. Thunderjets took part in the Korean War and almost immediately exposed all their faults. Maximum speed and maneuverability were insufficient to fight the Soviet Mig-15 fighters. This resulted primarily from simple wings, increasing the resistance of the aircraft at higher speeds. In the F-84 air strikes, only eight opponents lost at the loss of their own 64 machines. Almost immediately these aircraft were moved to the role of assault bombers and work was begun on deep design modifications. By the end of the Korean War, the F-84s had over 86,000 combat missions.
The Tamiya kit allows building the Republic F-84G Thunderjet. The box includes 2 frames with model elements, a transparent frame with parts and a decal.
Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
