The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of Japanese seaplane in 1:72 scale.
The M6A1 seaplane was to be a retaliatory weapon against the United States. From the Doolittle attack on Tokyo, the Japanese wanted to hit the American directly with their double-hit force. Due to the lack of airplanes and aircraft of the required range and the involvement of aircraft carriers in the Pacific, other methods were found. One of the unconventional ideas was to create an airplane taking off from a catapult submarine. Seiran was built at the end of 1943, was a two-seater bomber that could carry torpedoes or bombs up to 800 kg. However, the project was not a priority and only 28 M6A1 were produced. The end of the war found them on their way to their first destination, which was to be the Panama Canal.
The Tamiya kit allows building a model of the Japanese WWII Aichi M6A1 Seiran. The box includes 2 frames with model elements, a transparent frame with parts and a decal.
Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
