More info

The Terrain Set Boarding Actions is a modular terrain model kit, designed and manufactured by GAMES WORKSHOP. This complete set is intended for self-assembly and painting, allowing you to create extensive scenery for tabletop wargames, especially for the "Boarding Actions" mode.

Primary Use

The Terrain Set Boarding Actions is used to construct immersive battlefields for miniature games in 28-32mm scale, such as Warhammer 40,000 or Kill Team. Its modular design allows for flexible arrangement of interiors of space complexes or other claustrophobic scenarios, ideal for skirmishes requiring close combat and tactical use of cover.

Contents and Technical Features

The set features a modular design, offering a wide range of elements to customize the battlefield. Key components include:

  • 2 foldable game boards made of cardboard, each measuring 704 mm x 607 mm, with double-sided printing showcasing various scenery patterns.
  • 2 sets of modular Gallowdark terrain, produced from durable plastic, containing a total of:
    • 8x Short Walls with Opening and Pillars (2 different designs)
    • 4x Short Walls with Opening
    • 4x Long Walls with Opening and Pillars
    • 4x Long Walls with Opening
    • 4x Long Walls with Pillars
    • 4x Long Walls
    • 4x Short Walls
    • 32x Pillars
    • 4x Wall Endings

All terrain elements are designed to connect with each other, allowing for the creation of diverse layouts, increasing re-playability and tactical possibilities.

Materials and Construction

The gaming boards are made from high-quality cardboard, ensuring durability and ease of storage thanks to their foldable design. The Gallowdark terrain elements are cast from precisely molded plastic, guaranteeing high detail and resistance to damage during use and painting.

Compatibility

The set is fully compatible with Games Workshop's tabletop wargaming systems, especially with the rules for Warhammer 40,000, Warhammer 40,000 Kill Team, and the dedicated "Boarding Actions" game mode. The modular design also allows for the use of individual elements in other wargaming systems of a similar scale that require dense interior scenery.

Recommended Colors

For painting the Gallowdark terrain elements, the use of acrylic hobby paints is recommended. Typical colors that work well for industrial or cosmic scenery include various shades of grey (e.g., Mechanicus Standard Grey, Administratum Grey), blacks (e.g., Abaddon Black, Corvus Black), metallics (e.g., Leadbelcher, Iron Warriors), and rust and weathering colors (e.g., Ryza Rust, Typhus Corrosion) for adding authentic details. Dark washes (e.g., Nuln Oil, Agrax Earthshade) are also suggested for shading and emphasizing textures.

Notes

The Terrain Set Boarding Actions does not include paints or model glue, which are required for assembly and finishing the models. These products must be purchased separately.
