Tamiya LP-33 Lacquer GREY GREEN IJN is a high-quality 10ml model paint, part of the renowned Tamiya Lacquer Paint series. It features a precise reproduction of the GREY GREEN IJN color, typical for Imperial Japanese Navy units.
Paints from the Tamiya Lacquer Paint series are cellulose lacquers, highly valued in modeling for their short drying time, excellent surface coverage, and ability to create exceptionally smooth and durable finishes. This product is an ideal choice for painting plastic models, especially when using an airbrush, ensuring a professional finish.

Application and Preparation:
Surfaces to be painted should always be clean and degreased. For optimal paint adhesion and the best final result, it is recommended to use a dedicated model primer. Applying lacquer directly to bare plastic may result in weaker adhesion and a less durable finish. For priming, we recommend Tamiya Surface Primer, available in convenient spray forms.
Airbrushing (Recommended):
Tamiya LP cellulose lacquers are designed for airbrush application. For best results, the paint should be thinned in a 1:1 ratio with the dedicated Tamiya Lacquer Thinner. This thinning ratio ensures free paint flow through the airbrush nozzle, minimizing the risk of clogging and guaranteeing even coverage. When working with cellulose lacquers, due to the content of strong solvents, it is absolutely essential to use appropriate respiratory protection (e.g., masks with filters) and ensure good ventilation, preferably in conjunction with a spray booth with fume extraction.
Optionally, for an even smoother and more leveled surface, you can use Tamiya Lacquer Thinner Retarder Type, which contains a retarder, allowing the paint to level for a longer period.
Brush Painting:
Tamiya Lacquer Paints are not recommended for brush painting large surfaces. Due to the aggressive solvent content, brush strokes may cause streaking and damage previously applied paint layers. This product is suitable for very fine touch-ups or painting small details where precision is crucial.
