The bottle contains 10 ml of high-quality cellulose lacquer in dark green color (DARK GREEN 2), primarily designed for painting plastic models. Part of the Tamiya LACQUER PAINT series, this product features quick drying time and excellent surface coverage, resulting in a high-quality finish.
Application: airbrushing, small touch-ups with a brush
Surface Preparation and Application
This product is dedicated to precise painting of plastic models, especially where a durable and aesthetic lacquer finish is required. Surfaces should be thoroughly cleaned and degreased before application.
For the best results, it is recommended to use a primer, particularly when painting with a brush. For quick and even priming, Tamiya Surface Primer is suggested.
Painting Techniques
Airbrush Painting
The Tamiya LP-56 paint is optimal for airbrush application. The recommended thinning ratio is 1:1 with Lacquer Thinner, ensuring smooth flow without nozzle clogging. When painting indoors, it is advisable to wear respiratory protection, such as a mask, and use extraction systems for fumes.
Brush Painting
Due to the high solvent content and risk of damaging the coating, brush painting is recommended only for small touch-ups. Applying lacquer with a brush can cause streaks and uneven surfaces.
Compatibility and Finish
The lacquer is compatible with most plastic model parts and works well with primers and thinners from the Tamiya series. The final effect provides a high gloss and durability, enabling a professional-quality finish on your model.
