More info

The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of Japanese bomber in 1:72 scale.

In 1942, in the minds of Japanese strategists, the idea of a bold plan was born to construct airplanes capable to strike targets in the United States. The inspiration for it was a successful Doolittles attack on the Japanese islands. The aircraft designed for this task had to carry a torpedo or up to 800 kg of bombs and operate with submarines catapults returning to the mother ship after tasks completion. The contract for the project was given to Aichi aircraft, a test flight of the first prototype M6A1 Seiran was already held in 1943. Imperial Navy placed an order for a short series of these aircraft. Their first mission was to be an attack on the Panama Canal, but before it happened Japan surrendered. Two copies of the school version were made, which unlike the first version, had two seats and retractable landing gear instead of floats. This version was called M6A1-K Nanzan.

Tamiya kit includes parts allowing for the plastic model kit assembly of the Japanese school aircraft Aichi M6A1-K Nanzan from World War II period. Box includes 2 sprues, transparent elements of cabin and decals.

Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.

Paints recommended by the manufacturer for best results:

  • Tamiya spray AS-1 (camouflage)
  • Tamiya XF64 + X6 + X-21 (hull)
  • Tamiya X-18 (engine cover, cockpit elements, chassis, and engine)

  • Tamiya X-18 (elements of the cockpit and chassis)
  • Tamiya X-11 (aluminum parts)
  • Tamiya XF-56 (exhalation)
  • Tamiya XF-1 (tires)

  • The assembly instruction.
  • Frames with plastic parts.
