The 23 ml bottle contains Tamiya acrylic hobby paint in Light Green (X-15), designed for precise painting of plastic models and other modeling surfaces. The paint is alcohol-based, which results in a moderate odor level (●●○○○) and easy application with brushes or airbrushes.
Application: painting plastic models, figures, and modeling accessories
Compatibility: excellent compatibility with Tamiya paints and other modeling products that follow Tamiya color codes (X- and XF- series)
Preparation and Application Tips
Before painting, surfaces should be clean, dry, and degreased. Applying a primer is recommended to improve paint adhesion and finish quality. For quick priming, we recommend Tamiya Surface Primer.
Brush Painting
Primed surfaces can be painted directly with no thinning for small areas.
For larger surfaces, the paint can be lightly thinned with water for smoother application.
The paint should be thinned in a 1:1 ratio with Tamiya X-20A thinner for optimal flow through the airbrush nozzle.
Alternatively, stronger thinning agents like Lacquer Thinner or Mr. Levelling Thinner can be used, which improve paint flow but come with a stronger smell.
It is recommended to wear masks and work in a ventilated area when airbrushing.
Color Compatibility and Mixing
Tamiya acrylic paints are compatible with a wide range of models and are often used as standard colors in modeling instructions. The color codes start with X- or XF-. Some colors can be achieved mixtures in specific ratios, for example, instructions might recommend mixing XF-1 and XF-4 in a 2:1 ratio to obtain a particular shade.
