The ICM 1:35 Pz.Kpfw.V Panther Ausf.D model kit is a precise replica of the German medium tank from World War II. Its 1/35 scale allows for faithful reproduction of the historical vehicle's details, making it an ideal choice for modelers seeking realistic challenges and the opportunity to build accurate dioramas.
The Pz.Kpfw.V Panther tank, introduced into frontline service in 1943, was a German medium tank, designed as a response to the Soviet T-34. The prototype of this design was developed in 1942. The vehicle was equipped with a 75mm KwK.42 L/70 cannon. The Panther's combat debut took place during the Battle of Kursk. Unfortunately, the tank faced numerous technical problems and was characterized by a high breakdown rate. It was produced in three main versions: Ausf.A, Ausf.D, and Ausf.G, with a total production of fewer than 6,000 units by the end of the war. Other vehicles were also built on the Panther chassis, such as the Jagdpanther tank destroyer and Bergepanther recovery vehicles. An Ausf.F variant was also planned, featuring thicker armor, an 88mm cannon, and a Schmalturm-type turret.
The Ausf.D version was the first production variant of the Pz.Kpfw.V tank. It was characterized by specific features, such as weaker side armor compared to later versions and exhaust system problems, which often led to technical failures in combat conditions.
The ICM 1:35 Pz.Kpfw.V Panther Ausf.D set includes all necessary plastic parts to build a static model of the tank. It consists of:
Assembly of the model requires precise cutting of the plastic parts from the sprues, fitting them, and gluing them together according to the included instruction manual. Please note that some elements may require painting before final assembly. After assembling the model, it should be painted with model paints according to the suggested painting scheme, which is also found in the instruction manual. Next, apply the included decals to the surface of the model, following the guidelines for markings or graphics.
