Step into the world of naval aviation with the Heller 1/72 scale E-2C Hawkeye model – a precise replica of the iconic early warning and command aircraft. This model kit, offered by the renowned Heller company, allows you to build a miniature version of the aircraft that plays a crucial role in carrier operations worldwide.
The Heller E-2C Hawkeye 1/72 scale model kit set is a treat for military aviation and modeling enthusiasts. The E-2C Hawkeye is an American carrier-borne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft, developed by Grumman (now Northrop Grumman). Introduced into service with the U.S. Navy in the early 1970s, it quickly became an indispensable element of defense strategy.
The E-2C Hawkeye model faithfully captures the distinctive features of the original. Its most recognizable element is, of course, the large, rotating AN/APS-145 radar dome, mounted above the fuselage. This dome provides the aircraft with 360-degree long-range detection of air and surface targets. The Hawkeye is used for coordinating air operations, airspace surveillance, directing intercepts, and managing air traffic in carrier operational areas.
Powered by two Allison T56 turboprop engines, the E-2C Hawkeye is operated by a five-person crew, consisting of two pilots and three mission system operators. Repeatedly modernized and exported to US allies such as Japan, France, and Egypt, the Hawkeye consistently plays a critical role in providing information superiority on the modern battlefield.
The Heller 1/72 scale E-2C Hawkeye model kit contains all the necessary components to build the model: plastic sprues with parts to be cut out, an assembly guide, clear parts, and a decal sheet, allowing you to give the model a realistic appearance.
Please note that the kit DOES NOT include paints and glue, which are essential for completing the model. Its compatibility with a wide range of commercially available model paints (acrylics, enamels) and plastic cement ensures the freedom to choose your preferred products.
