A 10 ml bottle contains Tamiya XF-10 flat brown acrylic hobby paint, designed for detailed modeling. Based on an alcohol carrier, it provides good coverage and faster drying, along with a moderate odor (intensity ●●○○○).
Application and Properties
Suitable for painting plastic model kits, including military vehicles and figures.
The matte finish creates a realistic surface effect, ideal for historical military models.
Can be used alone or mixed with other Tamiya colors to achieve custom shades.
Compatible with Tamiya acrylic paints and dedicated thinners.
Before applying the paint, surfaces of the model should be thoroughly cleaned and degreased. Applying a primer is recommended to improve paint adhesion and durability of the coating. The suggested primer is Tamiya Surface Primer.
Brush Painting
Small surfaces can be painted with undiluted paint.
For larger areas, a slight water dilution is recommended to facilitate smooth application.
Optional: add Tamiya Acrylic Paint Retarder to extend drying time and improve application comfort during longer painting sessions.
Airbrush Painting
The paint should be thinned 1:1 with Tamiya X-20A, ensuring good flow through the nozzle and minimizing clogging.
The smell of the mixture is milder than that of solvent-based paints.
Protective respiratory equipment, such as a mask, and working in a spray booth with fume extraction are recommended.

To achieve specific shades, various colors can be mixed according to the proportions given in the instructions, e.g., XF-1 and XF-4 in a 2:1 ratio.
