The 10 ml bottle contains high-quality Tamiya hobby oil paint in a glossy purple color (Purple Gloss). The paint is an enamel oil-based paint characterized by a moderate odor (●●●○○) and excellent adhesion to various surfaces, including plastic, metal, and wood.
Compatible with models painted with Tamiya’s X- and XF-series markings
Application
The X-16 Purple Gloss paint is designed for precise painting of plastic and metal models, particularly those requiring a high-gloss finish. Tamiya enamels are widely used by modelers for painting miniatures, scale models, and dioramas. These paints meet standards for coating durability and color matching with original model schemes.
Surface preparation and painting
Before applying the paint, it is recommended to clean and degrease the model surface. To achieve a durable and smooth coating, using a primer is advised. For quick priming, Tamiya Surface Primer is recommended.
Brush painting
Small surfaces can be painted undiluted.
Larger areas require thinning the paint with Tamiya X-20 Thinner (without the "A").
The same thinner is used for cleaning brushes.
Airbrush painting
The paint should be thinned 1:1 with Tamiya X-20 Enamel Thinner.
It is recommended to use respiratory protection (mask), preferably with a extraction hood.
X-20 thinner is used for cleaning the airbrush.
Color compatibility and mixing
Tamiya enamel paints are used for models that are often marked in instructions with color codes starting with X- or XF-. It is possible to mix different shades to achieve a specific color required for the model. For example, a mixture in the ratio XF-1:2 + XF-4:1 can produce a shade specified in the model instructions.
