The Border Model 1:35 Kugelblitz Flak Panzer IV - MK.103 DOPPELFLAK 30MM model kit is a high-quality replica of a German self-propelled anti-aircraft vehicle from World War II. This 1/35 scale model allows for the precise recreation of the Kugelblitz's unique armored design and armament, offering a detailed insight into late-war armored technology.
The Kugelblitz (German for "Lightning Ball") was a German self-propelled anti-aircraft gun project developed in the final phase of World War II. Its design was based on the proven Panzer IV tank chassis, on which a fully enclosed, revolving turret was mounted. The Kugelblitz's primary task was effective anti-aircraft defense for ground troops, especially against low-flying Allied ground-attack aircraft. The vehicle was equipped with twin, rapid-fire 30mm MK.103 automatic cannons, which provided significant firepower against aerial targets. Due to difficult production conditions towards the end of the war, only a very limited number of units were produced, and most of them did not manage to participate in direct combat operations. The Kugelblitz nonetheless remains an interesting example of advanced German engineering projects from the final period of the war.
