The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of Japanese assault aircraft in 1:48 scale.
The best Japanese fighter aircraft was Ki-84 Hayate. Designed for heavy fighting in the Pacific, its main role was to dominate against American aviation and gain a full advantage in the air. It was directed to production only in April 1944, 18 months before the end of the war. At that time around 3,500 machines of this type were built, but it was definitely not enough. Hayate showed phenomenal performance. Thanks to the new engine its top speed was over 600 km / h. The fighter was very heavily armored but still retained excellent maneuverability. In version IA his armament consisted of 2 20mm guns (later changed to 30mm) and 2 guns 12.7mm. Hayate took part in the battles over China, Leyte, the Philippines, and Okinawa. Due to material shortages, the quality of the components dropped, which negatively affected its performance. Also, the new tactics of using suicide bombers have resulted in the loss of many, still very good machines.
The Tamiya kit allows building a Kiyo-84-IA Hayate fighter from Japan during World War II. The box includes 2 frames with model elements, wings, a transparent frame with parts and decals (allow for the reconstruction of 502 Interceptor Corps, 104 Air Assault Corps, Special Assault Corps, or 2 Fifth Airborne Division).
Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
