Tamiya 1:48 Republic P-47D Thunderbolt Razorback

The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of American assault aircraft in 1:48 scale.

The P-47 Thunderbolt revolutionized US hunting aviation and have a full predisposition towards it. The powerful engine generated 2300 hp and was capable of accelerating the aircraft up to 630 km / h. It was unusual with the powerful armament: 8 wing-MGs 12.7 mm. By the time the Mustangs entered the service, the P-47s were the only Allied fighters capable of escorting the bombers across the Channel to the Germany. During their missions they destroyed more than 12,000 enemy planes in the air or on the ground, losing 824 machines. Thunderbolt was the most-produced American fighter aircraft of World War II, and more than 15,000 P-47s were produced in dozens of different development variants.

The Tamiya kit allows building the US P-47D Thunderbolt Razorback model (a dorsal version). An airplane can be built together with additional fuel tanks, rockets or bombs. The box contains 5 frames with elements of the model, frame with transparent parts of the cabin and decals (allow reconstruction of machines from 61 or 63 of the 65th Airborne Squadron).

Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
