More info
The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of British biplane in 1:48 scale.
The Tamiya kit allows you to build the British biplane Fairey Swordfish Mk.II torpedo bomber, with three crew (pilot, navigator, and gunner). Sworfish was an aircraft designed in the mid-30s for the Royal Navy and Fleet Air Arm. At the time of entry into service, the biplane was a bit outdated. This type of aircraft took part in the pursuit of the German Bismarck, and one of them seriously damaged the battleship. The main task of the Swordfish was to cover the Merchant Fleet and the Atlantic convoys against German U-Boats. The Mk.II version was capable of carrying missiles, torpedoes, conventional and submarine bombs in various configurations. Thanks to the wide range of weapons, the Swordfish, in spite of their shortcomings, performed very well in their roles.
In the box, there are 8 frames with parts, a frame with clear fairings and decals (allow reconstruction of the aircraft of the 836 Squadron (MAC Amastra 1943-44), 816 Squadron (HMS Tracker, 1943) or 810 Squadron [Tanzania, 1942]).
Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
