The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of Japanese patrol aircraft in 1:48 scale.
The Mitsubishi Ki-46 is a typical example of the plane which was adapted to a completely different role than the original. The two-engine plane engine was designed as a reconnaissance aircraft. The main design assumptions were the speed and the maximum ceiling. Precisely because of the fact that the Japanese home islands were within range of the B-29 bombers from bases in China, Hyakushiki was proposed to be an interceptor fighter. These aircraft were modified in two ways, Otsu and Otsu + Hei. Both received two 20mm guns mounted in the nose, the second of the packages also included a 37mm cannon on the back of the aircraft, allowing the target to fire at higher ceilings. Despite the Ki-46s armament, they did not do well in the new role. Their climbing speed did not allow for a quick capture of bombers, and the lack of armor made them extremely easy targets for American gunners.
Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
