Tamiya 1:48 Douglas A-1J Skyraider USAF

The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of American assault aircraft in 1:48 scale.

The Tamiya kit allows building American Douglas A-1J aircraft from the Cold War era, together with a pilot. The A-1J was the last production of the Skyraider series. They had the most powerful engine of 2700 hp power and improved armor. Another modification was the strengthening of the chassis to allow the aircraft to operate from field aerodromes. Airplanes were used in assault and rescue squadrons. Their task was to eliminate the OPL points of the enemy and cover the rescue teams looking for shot down pilots.

In the box there are 8 frames with aircraft elements, frame with a fairing of the cab and decals (they allow the reconstruction of the 602 Special Operations Squadron, including the personal aircraft number 142029 and the Sock It To em one of the most famous American pilots of all the time, Captain George J. Marrett, veteran of the Vietnam War and an inspector of over 40 different aviation constructions).

Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
