More info
The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of British fourth generation turbo-jet fighter in 1:48 scale.
The Tamiya kit allows the building a model of a British Hawker Siddeley Sea Harrier FRS.1 with a pilot. Harrier is one of the most interesting structures in aviation history. As one of the few combat aircraft, it has the capability of vertical takeoff and landing so it does not need a long runway or catapult. This concept seemed particularly interesting for the Royal Navy and its Fleet Air Arm, so immediately ordering a marine version of the aircraft was submitted. It is different from the raised pilot cockpit, to improve visibility, and to use another radar. Aircraft weapons include air-to-air missiles and anti-missile missiles.
The box contains 3 frames with model parts, a transparent frame of the cab fairing and decals (they allow FAA No.899 [RNAS Yeovilton], FAA No.800 [HMS Hermes] or FAA No. 801 [HMS Invincible]) to be reconstructed. ).
Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
