Tamiya 1:48 Fieseler Fi-156C Storch

The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of German patrol aircraft in 1:48 scale.

In the mid-30s, work on a new reconnaissance aircraft began in the Third Reich. Of the three constructions, Messerschmitt, Siebel and Fieseler, the competition of the Ministry of Aviation of the Reich won the last of them. Fi156 was designed as a small take-off and landing aircraft. In order to get in the air, he needed only 60 meters to land only 20. With a large jump suspension he was able to operate almost anywhere, so he was widely exploited on each front. Stroch was a favorite airplane for commanders and officers. Gen. Erwin Rommel was especially fond of it, and many of his victories in the Africa campaign were due to the recognition of the airplane he personally participated in. Fi156 also took part in many special operations, the most famous of which was the Gran Sasso rally, during which the Italian dictator Benito Mussolini was released.

The special Tamiya special set allows building the Fiesler Fi156C Stroch with a pilot, a passenger, an officer, a NCO and Figures of General Erwin Rommel (as a passenger or standing figurine in a tropical uniform or a mantle). Airplanes can be glued in different versions, standard, tropical or winter, with an optional shooting place at the back of the cabin. The kit was issued as a 100 as a 1/48 scale aircraft and featured a very large number of parts and accessories. The box features 7 frames with model elements, frame with transparent parts, photo etched parts, transparency masking tape, and decals (allowing the reconstruction of personal aircraft of the Erwin Rommel used in Africa, aircraft No. 1268 who took part in the Benito rebound. Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction.
