More info
The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of American assault aircraft in 1:48 scale.
The Tamiya kit allows building the US Douglas A-1H Cold War Skyraider together with the pilot. Skyraiders were one of the last active piston-engined aircraft in the world. The Navy of the United States introduced them to service in 1946, and the last of them retired at the end of the 60s. The A-1H had as many as 15 knots of armament, making them extremely versatile and deadly. They could have been armed with a variety of weapons, from non-routed rockets to napalm bombs. They did a great job of supporting ground units and escorts of air cavalry helicopters.
In the box there are 6 frames with elements of the aircraft, a frame with a clear fairing of the cabin and decals (allow reconstruction of the machine from one of the squadrons of the VA-25 the First of the Fleet, VA-52 Knight Riders or VA-176. Thunderbolts during the Vietnam War).
Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
