More info
The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of Japanese heavy fighter in 1:48 scale.
The Tamiya kit allows building the Japanese Nakajima J1N1-Sa Gekko Type 11 Kou, together with two crew members. Gekko was designed as an escort fighter. It was rejected due to low maneuverability and performance. He did not perform as a reconnaissance aircraft. Eventually, it was adapted as a night fighter. It was fitted with 3 additional parcels at the rear of the hull, which fired at an angle to the top. Some of the models in the version also have a radar, making it easier to search for targets at night.
In the box, there are 7 frames with elements of the aircraft, a transparent frame with parts of the fairways and decals (allow reconstruction of the aircraft from the 302 Hunting Group of the Navy or Yokosuka Hunting Group).
Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
