The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of American armored transporter in 1:35 scale.
In the 70s in the U.S., almost in parallel with the work on the Abrams MBT, design work on a new infantry fighting vehicle has started. The new vehicle was to replace obsolete M113. During the first tests, that determined that vehicle is to be armed with a 25 mm gun, must have the ability of firing ATM missiles, and combat ports for landing crew to fire from inside the vehicle. First M2 went to the service in 1981, and the first troops equipped with them were combat ready in 1983. Subsequent extensive testing and further development of armaments in the final period of the Cold War led to further modifications. The first one included additional armor and weapons like TOW ATM, as a result of these changes and additions vehicles lost the ability to swim. Bradleys with these improvements were renumbered M2A2. In 2000, M2A3 version was introduced, again strongly armored and equipped with new electronics. Armored infantry vehicles of M2 Bradley family, represent a major strike force in today’s US Army armored infantry units.
Tamiya kit allows assembly of US IFV M2 Bradley model along with the commander. Box includes a part of the hull, 5 sprues with model elements, mesh screens for the engine compartment, rubber tracks and decals (allows reconstruction of vehicles from the 2nd Armoured Division and the 3rd Infantry Division).
Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
