The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of Russian heavy tank in 1:35 scale.
The last Soviet tank of World War II was IS-3. It was built on experience gained during IS-2 usage and it has the same armament, the 122 mm D-25T gun. The gun has heavy 25 kg bullets, which made it difficult to reload, reducing the rate of fire. The projectile's muzzle velocity was small, which was visible on the penetration of the opponent's armor. The main new feature of IS-3 was a new tower and hull design. Front armor, resembling a "pike nose", which is made from armored platitudinal treads, which increases the ability of anti-tank guns to be bounced. It was very hard to shoot at this tank because of the tower which is placed very low. The IS-3 heavy tanks did not have much time to participate in World War II. The tank was still being developed, modernized and served in the Red Army until the 1990s. Egyptian IS tanks took part in a six-day war with Israel.
Tamiya kit allows building the Soviet heavy tank IS-3 "Stalin" with the commander figurine. The kit includes a hull element, 4 frames with model parts, rubber tracks, string and decals.
