Tamiya 1:35 M1A1 Abrams - 120MM GUN MAIN BATTLE TANK

The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of American main battle tank in 1:35 scale.

The U.S. M1 Abrams is one of the most modern tanks in the world. Its service began in the early 80’s, initially interacting with M60 Patton and then completely displacing them from the army. The vehicle has been designed using the latest technology and is counted among the so-called third-generation tanks. In addition to standard equipment today, like infrared and optical, combat computing systems, Abrams has a very powerful armor. Combat compartment, which is located in the central part of the tank, is protected from the front with 960 mm armor. It is made of many materials, including titanium, graphite and depleted uranium. This provides the high resistance to cumulative and kinetic projectiles. Tank weaponry was originally a 105 mm rifled gun, listed in 1985 on the 120 mm smoothbore gun. The turbine driving a vehicle is considered one of the best in the world, generating enough power to propel the vehicle up to 45 mph (70 kph), while being very quiet. M1 Abrams tanks are the primary armament of armored troops of the Army and Marine Corps of the United States. They took an active part in all US military operations for the last 25 years. Export version of the tank also served in the armies of Australia, Kuwait, Egypt, Iraq and Saudi Arabia.

Tamiya kit allows assembly of the American M1A1 Abrams MBT model along with commander and loader. Box includes a part of the hull, 5 sprues with model elements, net to make cargo basket, screws for gun mounting, transparent plastic visors, rubber tracks, and decals.

Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
