The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of German tank destroyer in 1:35 scale.
In 1942, when Panzerwaffe clashed with the new Soviet tanks, it became clear that they needed a new tank destroyer. It was decided to create a transitional model of the mobile anti-tank gun, using components of Panzer III and IV tanks. That’s how Hornisse was created, and with its further development - Nashorn. The extended hull of Pz.Kpfw. IV was used as a weapon platform, and vehicle main armament was 88 mm Pak 43 anti-tank gun, mounted in open topped armored deck. Gun was able to penetrate the armor of any Allied tank. Although Nashorns were designed as short series of vehicles, they proved to be so effective that they served in the battalions of tank destroyers to the end of the war.
Tamiya plastic model kit allows assembly of the Sd.Kfz. 164 Nashorn tank destroyer with crew of 4. Box includes a part of the hull, 8 sprues with parts, string, rubber tracks and decals.
Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
