The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of German medium tank in 1:35 scale.
For a long period of time, Panzer IV tank was the heaviest armored vehicle of the Third Reich. It’s development started in the 30s, according to a new plan of the German genius in the field of armored troops - Heinz Guderian. According to the assumptions of the tanks, Panzer I and II were supposed to be temporary vehicles used for training, Panzer III main tank and Panzer IV a support tank. To this end, it features a short caliber 75 mm gun, with the possibility of using anti-tank, high-explosive and smoke ammunition. The first versions of the tank differed from each other mainly with the armor (Version A was too poorly armored), additional weapons (from 1 to 3 MG 34) and construction of the turrets (commander’s cupola). Version Ausf. D appeared at the end of 1938, and it took part in the campaigns in Poland, France, Scandinavia and the Balkans.
Tamiya kit allows assembly of the model of the German medium tank Panzer IV Ausf. D along with two crew members. Box includes a part of the hull, 4 sprues with model parts, rubber tracks and decals.
Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
