The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of German armored car in 1:35 scale.
The basic German vehicle of the initial stage of World War II was Sd.Kfz.222. It was built in the early 1930s by Horch as the successor of the Kfz.13 Adler. The basic requirement for the new construction was the speed and ability to move in difficult terrain. The new car reached speeds of up to 80 km / h on the road and 40 km / h on the ground, making it easier to navigate on the roads without the need for four-wheel drive and a relatively small 4.5 tons mass. Sd.Kfz. 222 was also well armed and armored. The 20 mm cannon was enough for his offensive role, while the armor of sharp-edged plates increased the chances of missile firing and provided protection against small arms. Combined with the speed of the vehicle, this made it possible to instantly recognize the opponents line without worrying about enemies weapon of the larger calibers. Sd.Kfz. 222 cars played their role until 1943 when it was decided to replace them with semi-caterpillar vehicles, much better in the difficult conditions of the eastern front.
The Tamiya kit allows building the German lightweight Sd.Kfz. 223 with the commander figurine. The kit also contains barrels and canisters that can help build a diorama. The kit includes 2 parts of the hull, 4 frames with parts of the model, photo-etched parts of the turret, aluminum barrel, string, and decals (allow reconstruction of vehicles from 10th, 24th Armored Division or 5th Light Division).
Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
