The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of German half-track in 1:35 scale.
Very often the decisive factor in the outcome of the battle is the speed, mobility and surprising the enemy. German tacticians were virtuosos in each of these areas and the effect of their work was the doctrine of Blitzkrieg. But in order to fully complete all the rules of the Blitzkrieg doctrine, fast and durable infantry transporter was needed. In 1939, the production of medium armored half-tracks Sd.Kfz. 251 began. They could carry 12 fully armed soldiers, and also were armed with two machine guns. The last version introduced into series production in 1943, it was the Ausf. D vehicle. It had a simplified structure and its production required fewer materials. More than 10,000 vehicles of this type were produced, which were accompanied by German soldiers on every front. Sd.Kfz. 251 was also often used as a platform to carry weapons, ambulance, and communication or sappers car.
Tamiya kit allows assembly of the model of the German half-tracked armored personnel carrier Mtl. SPW. Sd.Kfz. 251/1 Ausf. D, along with the driver and 3 soldiers. The kit includes 6 plastic sprues with vehicle components, rubber tracks, and decals (you can assemble back the vehicle from the 5th SS Panzer Division Viking).
Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
