The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of French armored car in 1:35 scale.
Greyhound was originally designed as a new light tank destroyer. It turned out, however, that the 37 mm anti-tank gun is too weak to face with more powerful German tanks. The M8 function was completely changed and over than 8,000 units were built. In armored divisions, the vehicle was used in the branches of reconnaissance, with its high speed and long range radio as major assets. In anti-tank units, cars were concentrated in the security sections, protecting vulnerable to infantry tank destroyers. Resistant to small arms fire and shrapnel they could effectively strike the enemy with its gun, and two machine guns - coaxial .30 and the legendary fifty cal mounted on top of the turret. The crew was equipped additionally with personal weapons, M1 rifles, and grenades.
