The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of American military car in 1:35 scale.
One of the successors of the famous Willys in the American army was the M151 MUTT (Military Utility Tactical Truck). He was the third Jeep family vehicle, but he was significantly different from his predecessors. First and foremost, the construction was a monocoque without a frame, which increased the transport capacity and options for fitting the armament. For the first time in this car also used independent suspension. The development version of the car, the M151A2, entered production in 1972, had a better engine and a reinforced suspension. The armament of the vehicle also changed, lighter KM M60 replaced the more powerful half-inch MG. They have been active in military operations around the world. At the beginning of the 90s, the M151 was successively replaced by a new vehicle - the Humvee.
The Tamiya kit allows building the M151A2 Ford Mutt off-road model with the driver and two soldiers. In the box, we will find 4 frames with car elements and decals (they allow reconstruction of vehicles of the 2nd Rangers Battalion or the 82nd Airborne Division from the period of US intervention in Grenada, October 1983).
Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
Paints suggested by the manufacturer for the best effect:
Vehicle:
XF-59 + XF-64 (1: 2), XF-69 (Rangers camouflage)
Tamiya XF-57 (bodywork, painting of the 82nd Airborne Division)
