The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of Japanese main battle tank in 1:35 scale.
The Japanese Self-Defense Forces, although originally intended only for defensive purposes, are in the top ten of the armed forces in the world. Advanced military projects costing billions of Yens are focused on all types of troops, from aviation to armored forces. One of the latest projects for the latter is the Type 90 tank, introduced to service in the early 1990s. Modeled on Western constructions such as Challenger 2, Leopard 2 and Abrams, it is included in the 3rd generation of the primary tanks. Its main armament is the same as the 120 mm smooth cannon manufactured by the German Rheinmetall. Armor also meets the latest standards and is made of ceramics and steel. With the use of an automated cannon charging system, the Type 90 crew is only 3 people, making the tank smaller, more maneuverable and faster than its western counterpart. Vehicles are equipped to handle a variety of additional equipment, including Type 92. It can be quickly connected and detached from the car, depending on the combat situation.
The Tamiya kit allows building the modern Japanese Type 90 mine battle tank with the mine roller together with two crew members (commander and gunner). In the box there is a hull element, 8 parts with model parts, rubber tracks, netting for transport basket, chain, wire and decals (allow reconstruction of the vehicle from the 7th Hokkaido Armored Division or Fuji school brigade).
Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
