The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of German armored car in 1:35 scale.
After losing the World War I by Germany, Treaty of Versailles limited their armored forces to a minimum. Any polygonal exercises were held using mock-ups and few vehicles for the police forces. At the beginning of the 30’s, they started working on new types of armored reconnaissance vehicles. One of them was Sd.Kfz. 222 designed in 1935. A four-wheeled, fast, agile and armed with a 20mm cannon and coaxial MG 34 machine gun, was great for reconnaissance and offensive actions. This vehicle served in squadrons of reconnaissance of panzer divisions, often working with the motorized infantry or motorcycle units. One of the theatres in which it was doing great was North Africa, where the activities of armored infantry were virtually unlimited.
Tamiya plastic model kit allows assembly of German light armored car Sd.Kfz. 222 with a crew of two and motorcycle DKW N350 with a driver. In addition, the box includes set of barrels and jerry cans, which can be used to build dioramas of field refueling station. Box includes 6 sprues and two-piece hull and valorization components of the vehicle such as decals (allows reconstruction of the vehicle from either 15th or 21st Panzer Division or 999 Armoured Reconnaissance Battalion, units fighting in Africa and Greece from 1941 until 1943) and photo-etched parts and aluminum cannon barrel.
Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
