The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of British heavy tank in 1:35 scale.
After the disastrous Dieppe landing operation, British began work on a new type of vehicle, which job was to support the landing troops. As a result of experience, they created some of the most peculiar vehicles of World War II, nicknamed after their creator Hobarts’ freaks. One of those tanks was Churchill Crocodile. At first glance, it does not differ too much from the usual Churchill Mk. VII. It had, however, an additional fuel trailer of 1500 liters capacity, which fed the flamethrower, mounted on the front of the vehicle. The range of weapon came to 110 meters with a favorable wind and weather, and the supply of fuel allowed to fire 80 one-second shots. Strong armor of Churchill allowed approaching closely to the enemy positions and opening fire, making the vehicle extremely effective. It happened, that at the mere sight of Crocodiles, Germans were surrendering. Between 1943 and 1945, there were about 800 tanks produced. They took part in the fighting in Italy and Western Europe. They were first used during the invasion of Normandy in the composition of the legendary 79th Armoured Division.
Tamiya kit allows assembly of the British heavy tank Churchill Mk. VII model in the basic or the Crocodile version along with two crew members. Box includes 2 hull pieces, 5 sprues with model parts, rubber tracks and decals (allows reconstruction of 34th or the 79th Armoured Division vehicles).
Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
