The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of German tank destroyer in 1:35 scale.
When Professor Ferdinand Porsche and his prototype of Tiger, VK 4501 (P), has not found the application, the designer designed a new vehicle on the same chassis. It was a heavy tank destroyer Jagdpanzer Ferdinand, armed with 88 mm Pak 43 anti-tank gun and front armor having a thickness up to 200 mm. There were 90 vehicles of this type built. After the battles in Kursk, where some of them fell prey to the infantry, the other 48 Ferdinands were equipped with machine guns operated by the radio operator. The name of the vehicle then was changed to Elefant. They were used in Wehrmacht until the end of the war, fighting on the Eastern Front and in Italy.
Tamiya plastic model allows assembly of the heavy tank destroyer Sd.Kfz. 184 Schwerer Jagdpanzer Elefant, along with the commander, driver and loader. Box includes 2 pieces of hull, 7 sprues with parts, string, and decals.
Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
