The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of Russian light tank in 1:35 scale.
The First World War has shown, that the cavalry as the breaking force fades away into the past. For this reason in the interwar period, the concept of fast tank or cavalry tank appeared, which was to take over the role of the former cavalry. In Soviet Russia, this idea has resulted in a family of BT tanks. They had a very innovative wheeled-tracked traction system based on the design of the suspension of the American engineer Walter Christie. The last tank of this family was a BT-7. Compared to its predecessors, it had a modified hull, which allowed the use of larger turret and thus more powerful 45 mm gun. Tanks from the BT family took part in the Spanish Civil War, fighting with Japan in the Far East and in the course of aggression against Finland in 1939. In battles against the Germans, these vehicles have proven to be insufficiently armed and armored. Until the late 1940s, more than 8,000 tanks of the BT family were produced, of which more than half were the BT-7.
Tamiya kit allows assembly of the Soviet BT-7 light tank model, along with the commander and officer of the land forces. Box includes 9 sprues with model parts, photo-etched engine cover, chain, sprues with transparent parts and decals.
Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
