The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of German main battle tank in 1:35 scale.

One of the most widely used and best tanks in the world are Leopard 2 main battle tanks. In the history of armored vehicles, it opened a chapter of 3rd generation tanks. It is equipped not only with all the most modern systems of firing, guidance, and preview systems (including thermal vision) but also a stabilizer, allowing to conduct fire on the move through rough terrain. One of its latest versions, the Leopard 2A6 has been converted to carry more powerful 120 mm gun with an extended barrel. The initial velocity of the projectile is nearly 1,800 m/s, and the effective range of fire is 4 km (using Israeli Lahat rounds, it increases to reach up, to 8 km!). Leopard 2 is still being developed by the Krauss-Maffei company, who presented his latest modification of A7+ in 2010.

Tamiya kit lets you assemble a modern German Leopard 2A6 main battle tank with the commander. The box, includes a part of the vehicle body, 2 turret elements, 5 sprues with parts, string, mesh baskets on the turret, transparent visors, rubber tracks, and decals (allow for the reconstruction of vehicles or 104. 203. 403. Armoured Battalion or the School of Armoured Munster).

Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints according to the proposed paint scheme in the instruction. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.

Paints recommended by the manufacturer for best results:

  • Tamiya XF-2 (radar elements)
  • Tamiya X-10 (MG3, equipment elements)

  • Tamiya XF-1, XF-4, XF-27, XF-64, XF-65 (overalls, camouflage)
  • Tamiya X-18 (headphone, gloves, boots, cable)
  • Tamiya XF-15 (leather)

Set contains:

  • The assembly instruction.
